Support Consultant (Public Safety)

TL;DR

Support Consultant (Public Safety): Delivering application and systems support for NEC Public Safety solutions with an accent on incident triage, resolution, and proactive maintenance. Focus on troubleshooting hardware and software levels of DSX & Vision product suites and managing technical changes within ITIL processes.

Location: Fareham, United Kingdom (On-site). Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK and be able to obtain NPPV3 and SC clearance.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve incidents for DSX & Vision product suites at both hardware and software levels.
• Liaise with 3rd line development teams and external providers to resolve complex faults.
• Perform remote and on-site software updates and upgrades at customer sites.
• Manage technical changes (RFCs) and assist with Problem and Change Management following ITIL processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including workplans, instructions, and guides.
• Monitor incidents and service requests in accordance with ISO20000-1 processes.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Business Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong experience in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NPPV3 and SC security clearance.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Certification in a related discipline.
• ITIL accreditation.
• Experience with Windows 10 and Windows Server up to 2016.
• Working knowledge of MSSQL, including ability to construct queries.
• Practical experience in TCP/IP network support.
