TL;DR
Engine Engineer (Unreal Engine): Developing and optimizing Unreal Engine systems and internal developer toolkits in partnership with Epic Games with an accent on problem-solving and engine architecture. Focus on solving complex scaling issues, reworking engine systems for better performance, and implementing AI-driven workflows.
Location: Remote, with quarterly mandatory in-person meet-ups in Leeds, UK. Working hours must align with core hours (10am-3pm UK time).
Salary: £60,000 – £85,000

What you will do
- Work directly on Unreal Engine as part of a strategic partnership with Epic Games.
- Develop and maintain internal developer toolkits and contribute to original game IP development.
- Analyze and solve complex engine problems, ranging from small fixes to full system re-architecting for scalability.
- Collaborate within a small engineering team to land pragmatic and scalable technical solutions.
- Integrate AI tools to automate experiments and accelerate the development process.
Requirements
- Strong C++ experience.
- Proven track record of shipping code used by a wide range of users.
- Experience maintaining and iterating on a codebase over a long period.
- Availability to work during UK core hours (10am-3pm).
- Ability to travel for quarterly in-person meet-ups in Leeds, UK.
- Unreal Engine experience is desired but not required.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of C#.
- Experience with JavaScript and web development.
