Senior Machine Learning Manager (Fintech): Leading a high-calibre team of ML scientists to develop underwriting and credit decisioning systems for UK growth and EU expansion with an accent on pricing, limits, and lifecycle decisioning. Focus on building scalable underwriting capabilities and integrating advanced AI to drive commercial impact in the borrowing domain.
Location: Remote within the UK, or hybrid in London or Cardiff. Relocation and visa sponsorship available.
Salary: £138,000–£176,000 + Incentive Awards & Stock Options

What you will do
- Define and lead the ML roadmap for Borrowing across UK growth and EU expansion.
- Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing team of senior ML scientists.
- Improve underwriting models across Loans, Flex, and Overdrafts.
- Enhance feature engineering using Open Banking, transaction intelligence, and external data.
- Partner with Credit Strategy, Product, and Engineering to shape the long-term credit decisioning architecture.
- Raise standards for model quality, governance, and iteration speed.
Requirements
- Must be based in or be able to relocate to the UK.
- Deep experience in credit risk, lending, and deploying production credit models.
- Strong expertise in machine learning, statistics, and decisioning systems.
- Proven track record of leading and developing senior ML scientists.
- Experience delivering practical results within a regulated environment.

- Experience operating across more than one market.
- Expertise in advanced ML methods and AI applied to structured financial data.
