Cloud Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Cloud Platform Engineer (DevOps): Building and operating core public cloud platform foundations with an accent on landing zones, identity integration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks. Focus on implementing scalable networking, automating access workflows, and ensuring system reliability through robust CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Hybrid, Hartlepool, England. Must have pre-existing right to work in the UK and ability to gain Enhanced Security Clearance.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain cloud landing zones, account structures, and baseline configurations.
• Develop and manage shared platform services including network hubs and identity integrations.
• Build and maintain cloud networking components such as VPCs, DNS, and private connectivity.
• Develop Terraform templates and modules to ensure consistent environment provisioning.
• Support day-to-day platform operations, incident response, and routine maintenance.
• Collaborate with Security and FinOps teams to embed governance and operational controls.

Requirements

• Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.
• Must hold or be able to gain Enhanced Security Clearance (SC level or NPPV Level 3).
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or OCI).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM fundamentals, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise network environments (routing, firewalls, VPN).
• Administration experience with Windows Server or Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Exposure to container platforms and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
