Location: Hybrid in Singapore (2 days in-office, 3 days remote)

What you will do

• Set a research agenda targeting real-world product and platform problems within the broader company strategy.
• Design and execute rigorous experiments, interpret results, and determine viable paths for implementation.
• Develop proof-of-concept code in Python and PyTorch, driving it toward production and benchmarking its impact.
• Mentor research associates, guide experimental directions, and partner with ML engineers to ship features.
• Deliver results as working code first, producing reports, publications, or patents only where they add specific value.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent applied research experience.
• 7+ years of applied research experience, ideally in EdTech or Applied AI.
• Proven track record of research reaching production or having measurable real-world impact.
• Strong hands-on coding skills in Python and PyTorch, with experience in GitLab and MLflow.
• Must be based in or able to work from Singapore to fulfill hybrid office requirements.
• English: Resume must be submitted in English.

Nice to have

• Track record of rapidly moving research into production ML systems.
• Experience with AI-for-education products or a background in quantum computing / quantum machine learning.
• History of mentoring researchers or leading a small research team.
