Location: Hybrid role with required presence in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, or Spain.

What you will do

• Define the sovereign cloud vision, target operating model, and multi-year roadmap aligned with payment product growth.
• Lead the design and implementation of secure landing zones, identity management, and compliance automation.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to ensure adherence to PCI DSS, SOC 2, DORA, and GDPR.
• Develop SRE and operational practices, including incident response and disaster recovery for sovereign environments.
• Manage CapEx and OpEx budgets while providing financial guidance to internal departments.
• Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure or security engineering, with 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience operating regulated cloud environments (PCI, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Deep understanding of sovereign cloud principles including data residency and jurisdictional control.
• Proficiency with modern cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD).
• Strong stakeholder management skills to align management, engineers, and auditors.
• Must be based in or able to work from one of the specified European office locations.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments or financial services regulation.
• Knowledge of European resilience programmes like DORA.
