Staff Software Engineer (Build Platforms)

What you will do

• Drive technical direction and decision-making for the Build Platforms team, advising on architecture, scale, and maintenance.
• Resolve bottlenecks across local workflows, Unreal build/cook systems, CI, and release infrastructure.
• Collaborate with VALORANT developers and stakeholders to align on priorities and deliverables.
• Lead and execute multi-month engineering efforts in partnership with central technology teams.
• Participate in the team's support rotation to ensure pipeline stability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience architecting and maintaining developer-facing platforms and complex workflows.
• Proficiency in building automated build, test, and release pipelines.
• Expertise in C++, C#, Java, or Go.
• Proven experience mentoring other engineers.
• BS degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Unreal Engine game build systems, BuildGraph, and Horde.
• Experience with Perforce workflows, content cooking, and build artifact debugging.
• Background in Game DevOps or cloud technologies.
• Experience serving as a technical lead for a team of engineers.
• Experience building large-scale backend systems or game services.
