DevOps Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

DevOps Engineer (AWS/EdTech): Designing and maintaining a modern AWS-based cloud platform for an edtech project with an accent on Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and CI/CD pipeline optimization. Focus on strengthening observability through CloudWatch and Datadog, implementing DevSecOps practices, and migrating on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.

Location: Hybrid (Almere, Netherlands). Must work 2 days a week in the office in Almere.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain a modern AWS-based cloud platform.
• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK with Python.
• Set up and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native and Git-based tools.
• Strengthen observability across monitoring, logging, and tracing using CloudWatch and Datadog.
• Implement DevSecOps practices to ensure platform security and compliance.
• Drive the migration of infrastructure from on-premises to AWS.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS as the primary platform.
• Practical experience with AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Good working knowledge of Linux systems.
• Experience working with containerized environments, specifically ECS Fargate.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Almere, Netherlands for a hybrid schedule (2 days/week onsite).

Nice to have

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with hybrid setups (on-premises + cloud).
• Experience with AWS cost optimization.
• Contribution to platform engineering or internal developer platforms.
