Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario (3 days per week onsite)

What you will do

• Own people management for direct reports, including coaching, performance evaluations, and career development.
• Drive the end-to-end hiring process from defining role requirements to onboarding.
• Accountable for team delivery, setting goals, tracking progress, and removing blockers.
• Participate in technical design and code reviews to ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture patterns.
• Champion an AI-first engineering culture, driving the adoption of AI tools across the SDLC.
• Partner with Product Management, Architecture, and DevOps to resolve cross-organizational issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-native and API-centric applications.
• Must be based in Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid 3 days onsite).
• Experience managing teams globally across multiple offices and time zones.

Nice to have

• Fluency in Spanish.
• Experience migrating monolithic applications to microservice architecture.
• Background in financial services or wealth management.
