TL;DR
Tech Lead, Software Development (Fintech): Leading high-performing development teams in the delivery of enterprise wealth management solutions with an accent on technical design, code quality, and people mentorship. Focus on applying an AI-first engineering mindset to accelerate development cycles and building scalable, cloud-native architectures.
Location: Must be based in Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite)

What you will do
- Lead, coach, and mentor developers through regular 1:1s and hands-on technical guidance.
- Drive the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and code reviews to delivery.
- Actively contribute to design and code while enforcing architectural principles and development standards.
- Embed AI tools natively across the SDLC to automate and augment development, testing, and documentation.
- Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to manage backlogs, negotiate scope, and resolve blockers.
- Own performance evaluations and career development planning for direct reports.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to commute to Toronto, Ontario.
- 8+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in cloud-native/API-centric applications.
- 2+ years of experience in a formal Team Lead or people management role.
- Strong proficiency in Java, SQL Server, Vue.js, and Angular.
- Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Spring Boot.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Background in financial services or wealth management.
- Experience migrating monoliths to microservice/cloud-centric architectures.
- Proficiency in .NET (C#).
