Senior ML Engineer (E-commerce)

Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid role with 52 remote days per year).

What you will do

• Improve core search algorithms and recommendation systems to enhance product relevance and user experience.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models for marketing automation and internal communication tools.
• Analyze raw data, formulate hypotheses, and conduct experiments to drive product metrics.
• Build and maintain scalable, high-load distributed applications using Python, Go, and Scala.
• Collaborate with international teams across Portugal, Brazil, Latvia, and China.

Requirements

• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal.
• Strong algorithmic skills and experience with data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language with experience in high-load distributed systems.
• Industry experience in ML, including modeling (GBDT, DNN, linear models) and end-to-end production deployment.
• Knowledge of statistics and data analysis techniques.

Nice to have

• Experience developing search or recommendation systems.
• Experience training neural network models.
• Familiarity with data stack tools: Spark, Cassandra, MongoDB, Kafka.
• Knowledge of Go.
