Machine Learning Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Remote role for candidates in LatAm, North Macedonia, Portugal, or Serbia

What you will do

• Build and maintain generative AI applications, including LLM-powered features and agentic workflows.
• Develop information retrieval pipelines covering data ingestion, chunking, embeddings, and vector search.
• Contribute to evaluation frameworks, production monitoring, and model improvement strategies.
• Deploy, maintain, and upgrade machine learning models and pipelines while analyzing model errors.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, DevOps, Backend, and client teams to define objectives, deliverables, and progress metrics.
• Explore, clean, and visualize data and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of AI or machine learning engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI solutions, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning and serving, search, and embeddings.
• Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks including scikit-learn, PyTorch, HuggingFace, TensorFlow, and Transformers.
• Working knowledge of cloud ML services, preferably AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, and SageMaker, plus familiarity with containerization and orchestration.
• Excellent English is required for meetings, customer calls, and business communications; the CV must be written in English.

Nice to have

• Experience building and deploying agents using Agentic RAG, NLQ, smolagents, or strands-agents.
• MLOps or LLMOps experience with tools such as MLFlow and LangFuse.
• Consultancy or startup experience, including direct client work and project management.
