TL;DR

Senior Lighting TD (VFX): Delivering high-quality lighting and rendering for high-end live-action feature films with an accent on ray tracing and path tracing renderers. Focus on troubleshooting pipeline issues, implementing shader setups, and achieving photo-real visuals.

Location: Hybrid (Sydney, Australia). Must have the right to work in Australia. Relocation is required if not currently based in Sydney.

What you will do

• Deliver high-quality lighting and rendering for high-end live-action VFX projects.
• Collaborate closely with lighting leads and supervisors to push industry standards.
• Apply thorough knowledge of 3D Computer Graphics and film lighting to shot finishing.
• Perform Look Development and shader setup to enhance visual quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical pipeline issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of VFX industry experience as a Lighting Artist on high-end live-action feature films.
• Production experience with Maya and/or Houdini and/or Solaris.
• Proficiency with production-quality renderers such as Mantra, Renderman, Solaris, or Arnold.
• Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
• A strong showreel demonstrating shot lighting and rendering on high-quality productions.

Nice to have

• Production experience using Katana.
• Basic compositing experience using Nuke or equivalent.
• A broad Generalist TD background.
• Experience producing photo-real work for high-end live-action VFX.
