Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 CAD

What you will do

• Develop animation and simulation rigs for creatures, digital doubles, vehicles, and props.
• Create technical and creative solutions to deliver high-quality rigs and simulations based on production needs.
• Execute rigging and enveloping for cloth, hair, flesh, and crowd simulations.
• Collaborate with the Performance department to ensure seamless integration of creature work.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in feature films.
• Thorough knowledge of creature specialization, including rigging and enveloping in cloth, hair, flesh, and crowd simulations.
• Full working knowledge of Maya and Houdini.
• Strong visual and artistic skills.
• Familiarity with pipeline issues in creature-heavy post-production environments.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada and join the IATSE union.

Nice to have

• Programming or scripting skills in Python or Mel.
• Interest in anatomy, tailoring, grooming, or mechanics.
• Experience with Houdini Creature FX set-ups and simulation.
• General TD background and knowledge of Mush3d for shotsculping.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems.
