What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript to power financing workflows.
• Design and version REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) for web applications, admin tools, and partners.
• Create relational data models in PostgreSQL and manage migrations using Prisma.
• Build ingestion pipelines for structured (API, CSV, Excel) and semi-structured (PDF) financial data.
• Implement authentication, authorization (roles, scopes), and secure handling of PII.
• Write unit and integration tests and implement observability via structured logs and metrics.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of professional experience (internships and strong projects included).
• Proficiency in building backend APIs with Node.js/TypeScript (Python or Java experience also considered).
• Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL schema design fundamentals.
• Experience with Git and collaborative PR workflows.
• Strong communication habits and ability to document technical decisions.
• Location: Must be based in Africa or be aligned with the GMT+3 time zone.

Nice to have

• Experience with NestJS and Prisma ORM.
• Exposure to fintech concepts such as accounting, reconciliation, and loan products.
• Experience with S3-like object storage and document metadata workflows.
• Knowledge of Cloud fundamentals (AWS/GCP), Docker, and CI/CD.
• Interest in building data interfaces for ML/AI models.
