What you will do

• Own engineering delivery for a squad’s platform area, including core services, APIs, and third-party integrations for money transfer capabilities.
• Drive the squad’s technical vision and contribute to architecture, API development, complex implementations, design discussions, code quality standards, and incident management.
• Partner with the Product Manager to plan roadmap initiatives, define sprint priorities, manage timelines, and ensure successful releases.
• Coach and mentor engineers with regular 1:1s, feedback, career development support, and participation in recruitment/interviewing as needed.
• Promote adoption of AI-powered development tools by establishing best practices and integrating them throughout the SDLC.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production-grade software systems.
• Proven technical leadership: architectural decision-making, design reviews, mentoring, and accountability for technical outcomes.
• Experience coaching and supporting engineers beyond technical guidance (performance development, feedback, regular 1:1s).
• Strong backend skills, preferably C#/.NET; equivalent OOP experience with Java, Kotlin, or Go is valued.
• Hands-on AWS experience (SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, Lambda) plus ownership of CI/CD and release management (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Strong system architecture background (distributed systems, service-oriented/microservices) and solid SQL/relational database design.

• Experience in payments, foreign exchange, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• Experience leading engineering teams delivering large-scale payment/fintech/money-movement solutions.
• People-management or formal performance-management responsibilities.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding engineering talent.
• Track record modernizing platforms, reducing legacy dependencies, or leading major refactoring.
• Experience guiding organizational transformations and scaling/modernization programs.
