What you will do

• Design, implement, and administer PostgreSQL database solutions in virtualized and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain complex data architectures, including migration strategies from legacy engines like Oracle or MySQL.
• Manage high availability, replication, and disaster recovery plans using tools like Patroni and Barman.
• Analyze client infrastructure to recommend best practices for performance tuning and operational efficiency.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure maximum uptime and rapid incident resolution.
• Collaborate with clients to manage commitments, provide status reports, and ensure alignment with operational procedures.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• Extensive experience in installing, configuring, and upgrading PostgreSQL databases.
• Proven expertise in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) and software development (C++, Java, or Go).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud-native monitoring solutions.
• Deep understanding of High Availability (HA) solutions and backup/recovery strategies for PostgreSQL.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes and EnterpriseDB (EDB) solutions.
• Knowledge of ITIL service standards.
• Contributions to open-source database or infrastructure projects.
