What you will do

• Partner with customer teams to provide project-based and long-term support for CockroachDB environments.
• Design and implement operational workflows, including ticket triage, escalation paths, and SLA management.
• Manage the full cluster lifecycle, including upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and disaster recovery operations.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and management of database clusters.
• Analyze observability metrics and lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem processes.
• Ensure data security and integrity through rigorous adherence to standards like RBAC, encryption, and audit logging.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Advanced experience with CockroachDB and intermediate knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Proven experience migrating legacy databases to distributed SQL systems.
• Deep production experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Operator patterns.
• High proficiency in Terraform, AWS networking, and scripting (Python, Go, Bash).
• Strong consulting focus with excellent communication skills for managing client expectations.
