What you will do

• Develop innovative tools to help scientists and students discover, transform, and improve the quality of Earth Science data.
• Perform design, development, and operations for the NASA Earthdata Cloud within an Agile environment.
• Implement automation and scalability for cloud assets using industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance with program and NASA standards, including Section 508 compliance.
• Analyze current cloud infrastructure to define and implement improvement solutions.
• Mentor team members in leveraging AWS cloud services for optimal system design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience using Cloud Services in IaaS or PaaS environments.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS, including Lambda and Step Functions.
• 5-7 years of programming experience in C++, BASH, Python, Java, and JavaScript.
• Experience with DevOps automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with UNIX OS.
• Full life cycle software design experience for large, complex n-tier client/server applications.
• AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certifications.
