TL;DR

Merchant Onboarding Specialist (Fintech): Supporting merchants during the pre-submission stage of onboarding with payment partners with an accent on website readiness, business model assessment, and policy compliance. Focus on identifying and resolving potential blockers to ensure successful underwriting and approval by PSPs and acquirers.

Location: Based in Cyprus (Limassol) or remote within Europe, with relocation support available.

What you will do

  • Guide merchants through the pre-submission process to ensure readiness for payment partners.
  • Review merchant websites, apps, and business models against acceptance criteria.
  • Identify and help resolve potential blockers such as policy gaps or pricing issues.
  • Prepare readiness summaries and action plans for merchants.
  • Track onboarding statuses and coordinate with internal teams and payment partners.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the Head of Department.

Requirements

  • Strong business English (written and verbal).
  • Relevant experience in payments, fintech, PSP/acquiring, or merchant onboarding.
  • Understanding of how payment partners assess merchants and common onboarding blockers.
  • Ability to review digital products and identify readiness gaps.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage onboarding trackers.
  • Must be based in Europe or willing to relocate to Cyprus.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-risk or complex merchant profiles.
  • Knowledge of card scheme and PSP policy expectations.
  • Experience improving onboarding checklists or templates.
