What you will do

  • Assist in leading the pastry team by managing day-to-day operations and coordinating cooks and workers during food preparation.
  • Supervise pastry preparation shift operations and prepare/cook pastries for regular service and special guests or functions.
  • Develop and create new pastry ideas and items; follow proper handling, correct temperatures, storage standards, and quality checks.
  • Support menu development for pastry with the Executive Chef and help achieve culinary performance and budget goals.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by handling guest problems and collecting feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Operate and maintain department equipment, report malfunctions, and manage supplies and inventory according to budget.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in culinary/food & beverage or a related professional area.
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management (or related) with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to ensure sanitation and food standards are met and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Experience preparing pastries and executing orders to required specifications, including correct handling and storage.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate pastry team activities and support supervision during shifts.
