TL;DR

Junior Java Developer (AdTech): Building and optimizing high-performance matching engine services for digital advertising platforms with an accent on Java development, system reliability, and real-time data processing. Focus on contributing to production code, learning cloud-based infrastructure, and collaborating within a supportive engineering team.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to the Holborn office in London (3 days per week)

What you will do

  • Contribute to the development of the DOOH Scheduler and DAX Exchange using modern Java.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code meeting performance and observability standards.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production services in a real-time environment.
  • Pair with senior engineers and participate in code reviews to support continuous improvement.
  • Learn and apply team development practices, tooling, and deployment workflows.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of core data structures and algorithms (Computer Science degree or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Java and core object-oriented concepts.
  • Familiarity with Git, Unix/Linux commands, and agile development environments.
  • Methodical approach to writing, reviewing, and testing code.
  • Must be able to work from the London office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Interest in low-level performance, networking, or systems programming.
  • Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with containerized environments.
  • Curiosity about digital advertising and high-throughput real-time platforms.
