TL;DR

Principal SRE (SRE/DevOps): Designing and optimizing resilient cloud architectures and deployment patterns with an accent on reliability engineering, observability, and automation. Focus on reducing operational toil, leading complex performance investigations, and mentoring engineering teams on production ownership.

Location: Hybrid (Portugal). Requires occasional visits to the office in Coimbra.

What you will do

• Partner with Engineering teams to design resilient services and promote SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Advise and challenge teams on service architecture, fault tolerance, scalability, and operational readiness.
• Lead investigations into performance bottlenecks across applications, infrastructure, databases, and networks.
• Build and improve automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD pipelines to enhance release safety.
• Participate in incident response for high-priority issues and lead blameless post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers on production ownership and operational best practices.

Requirements

• Software engineering background with the ability to write clean, maintainable production code.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency patterns, and performance engineering.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and on-premise virtualization.
• Kubernetes is a must.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, Java, C#, or TypeScript.
