What you will do

• Act as the subject matter expert for European and International VAT, providing business-oriented advice on legislation and cross-border flows.
• Lead the design and maintenance of global VAT setups in SAP (ECC and S/4HANA).
• Define and translate VAT requirements into functional specifications for SAP and e-invoicing tools.
• Drive SAP VAT configurations and validate testing for new VAT rules and service flows.
• Take ownership of indirect tax compliance processes and leverage digital reporting tools.
• Partner with Finance, IT, and Supply Chain teams to embed VAT into end-to-end business processes.

Requirements

• Master of Laws, Economics, or Finance with specialized VAT education.
• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant European VAT experience, preferably in a Big Four or multinational firm.
• Hands-on experience with SAP VAT determination and configuration.
• Familiarity with e-invoicing and digital reporting obligations.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex projects.

• Prior involvement in an S/4HANA roll-out.
• Experience with complex cross-border business models.
