Principal Digital Engineer (BIM)

What you will do

• Support design integration, BIM production, GIS, and project production teams with day-to-day digital engineering activities.
• Manage and coordinate 4D models for constructability, permanent and temporary works, site layouts, crane plans, and haul roads.
• Develop and manage interface coordination models in Synchro Control and coordinate BIM data from designers, subcontractors, and third parties.
• Produce, federate, review, and quality-check 2D, 3D, and 4D models, including clash detection and visual walkthroughs.
• Maintain BIM and information management records, ensure compliance with project information requirements, and support CDM and safety standards.
• Provide software deployment, troubleshooting, training, and guidance to project team members and less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Proficiency with authoring, scripting, design review, coordination, simulation, and collaboration applications such as MicroStation, AECOsim, OpenRoads, Power Rail, Navigator, and ProjectWise.
• Proven experience in design or construction, including demonstrable 4D modelling experience.
• Knowledge of multidisciplinary design workflows and BIM/CAD production and coordination processes.
• Strong experience with international and/or British BIM and CAD standards and project implementation.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to build effective relationships with project delivery teams, clients, and contractors under time pressure.
• Experience in a consultancy or contractor environment on infrastructure transportation projects, plus strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
