TL;DR

Lecturer in Maths and Academic Skills (Maths/Academic Skills): Design and deliver inclusive quantitative skills provision across the student lifecycle, including mathematics, numeracy, statistics, quantitative reasoning, data literacy, and academic skills. Focus on building engaging teaching sessions, leading module delivery and assessment, and providing 1-1/small-group academic support with an emphasis on student progression and attainment.

Location: London: Holborn, Fitzrovia, Southall, Wembley, Kingsbury and Harrow (must be flexible to travel to all campus locations)

Salary: £42,000 to £48,000 per annum (subject to skills and experience)

What you will do

• Design and deliver weekly lectures, seminars, and tutorials in line with approved programmes, ensuring sessions are engaging, inclusive, and accessible.
• Develop and maintain module content and materials, including updating class notes and regularly updating the VLE and MS Teams resources.
• Provide student support through 1-1 guidance and small-group tutorials in maths, numeracy, statistics, Excel, SPSS, and related quantitative skills (online or on-campus).
• Support research projects and dissertations involving quantitative analysis and data interpretation.
• Lead quality assurance activities as Module Leader, including module evaluation reports, programme committee contributions, and continuous improvement based on feedback.
• Set, standardise, moderate, and mark assessments, ensuring timely submissions and providing formative and summative feedback; escalate academic misconduct where required.

Requirements

• Be able to travel flexibly across all hirify.global campus locations in London.
• Experience delivering teaching and assessment in mathematics/numeracy/statistics and supporting students with quantitative skills.
• Ability to provide academic support for students across different disciplines and levels of study.
• Competence using digital learning tools (VLEs and MS Teams) and maintaining accurate teaching/attendance records.
• Ability to support research/dissertation work involving quantitative analysis and data interpretation.
