TL;DR

Senior 3D Character Artist (Game Art): Creating high-quality 3D character assets for real-time games with an accent on character modeling, texturing/UVs, and high-poly to low-poly optimization. Focus on building production-ready character pipelines using game engines and asset workflows, while collaborating in a Spanish and English-speaking environment.

Location: Valencia, Spain (on-site) with an option to work remotely 1 day per week; fully remote option available for the right candidate — work from anywhere.

What you will do

  • Create game-ready 3D character models, including both high-poly and low-poly assets optimized for real-time rendering.
  • Develop character texturing and UV mapping for games, using production-ready workflows.
  • Work with game engine asset pipelines (Unity/Unreal Engine) to integrate character assets into production.
  • Apply strong lighting, shading, and rendering techniques to character work.
  • Collaborate using version control systems and communicate effectively in a Spanish/English environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in professional or personal projects using 3D modeling software (Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max).
  • Strong understanding of character modeling, texturing, and UV mapping for games.
  • Experience producing high-poly and low-poly character models optimized for real-time rendering.
  • Portfolio showcasing character-focused 3D work and strong art foundations (fine arts or illustration studies preferred).
  • Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) and their asset pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills to work in a Spanish and English-speaking environment.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of PBR workflows (Substance Painter, Photoshop).
  • Experience with ZBrush or other sculpting tools.
  • Basic rigging and skinning knowledge; familiarity with facial animation/blend shapes.
  • Experience with motion capture workflows and mocap-compatible assets.
  • Knowledge of VFX/particle systems for characters; experience with console and PC development.
  • Familiarity with agile processes (Scrum or Kanban).
