What you will do

• Design and implement flight software for C&DH, including command routing, onboard data management, and telemetry generation.
• Develop telecommand and telemetry processing software for uplink validation, scheduling, and health data collection.
• Create spacecraft time management software including onboard time correlation and synchronization with GPS/GNSS.
• Collaborate with hardware and autonomy engineers to define software requirements and behavioral boundaries.
• Integrate and test FSW using simulation environments, including software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL).
• Mentor junior engineers and support on-orbit troubleshooting of deployed spacecraft.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of experience in spacecraft flight software or embedded software development.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as Linux, QNX, VxWorks, or RTEMS.
• Familiarity with CCSDS standards and cybersecurity principles for space systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Experience with over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
• Familiarity with NASA cFS, F Prime, or similar flight software frameworks.
• Understanding of radiation effects on electronics and software mitigation techniques.
