What you will do

• Develop and enhance the OPENVAS open-source vulnerability scanning framework.
• Design and implement high-performance backend services, APIs, and system-level components in Rust.
• Contribute to the architecture of new scanning modules and framework capabilities.
• Solve complex backend challenges at scale with a focus on performance and maintainability.
• Drive software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Engage with the open-source community and collaborate on GitHub.

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in backend, systems, or infrastructure development.
• Expert-level proficiency in Rust and solid experience with C.
• Strong background in system-level programming, API design, and software architecture.
• Proven ability to design technical solutions and solve large-scale backend challenges.
• English: Full professional proficiency required.
• Interest in interpreter or compiler programming.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Podman, and Docker Compose.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Interest in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or network security.
