What you will do

• Instrument existing data and retrieval pipelines to capture performance metrics for KPI scoring.
• Develop a hybrid retrieval layer by merging lexical search (BM25) with vector store mechanics (pgvector).
• Implement custom embedding strategies and chunking boundaries to improve search relevance.
• Write clean, performant, and fully tested Python code for direct delivery into client repositories.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate retrieval components into a unified enterprise application pipeline.

Requirements

• Must be physically located in Poland or Eastern Europe to maintain squad alignment.
• 3+ years of commercial software development or ML engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong Python coding capabilities with experience building and testing data or ML pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with vector search, embedding models, and lexical retrieval protocols.
• Proven familiarity with TDD, automated linting, and structured Git/Azure DevOps workflows.

Nice to have

• Practical exposure to search relevance tuning and context re-ranking models.
• Experience processing technical or industrial documentation.
