Site Reliability Engineer (Insurtech)

TL;DR

Site Reliability Engineer (Haskell/AWS): Supporting system reliability and operability for a specialty insurance platform with an accent on observability and infrastructure-as-code. Focus on scaling distributed systems, managing containerized environments, and refining incident response practices.

What you will do

• Support system reliability and operability, contributing to monitoring, observability, and infrastructure improvements.
• Work with containerized and cloud-based systems including Docker, Nix, and AWS (ECS and Fargate).
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and contribute to the software stack (Haskell, Python, TypeScript).
• Participate in incident response and improve on-call, alerting, and incident management practices.
• Collaborate with a distributed team to drive continuous operational improvement.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK
• Solid track record in software engineering and operating distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Git, Linux, the command line, and modern software development workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Haskell in production OR a strong background in infrastructure, operations, or SRE-adjacent roles.
• Ability to work autonomously in a scale-up environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with incident management, monitoring, or DevOps methodologies.
• Industry experience in insurtech, insurance, or related fields.
• Experience working within a distributed team environment.
