What you will do
- Own outcomes end-to-end: frame problems, design, ship, and take responsibility for the metric; prototype quickly and descoping to the cheapest working version.
- Stay close to customers by shadowing sales/support and using customer reality to drive technical decisions on what to build, defer, or kill.
- Own a domain across product surface and platform: interfaces, reliability, performance, and security, including on-call for owned systems.
- Build and scale full-stack experiences: ship responsive, accessible React UI and back it with Node.js and Python services/APIs; keep cloud batch platform and data pipelines reliable as usage grows.
- Architect AI-driven leverage by building AI-assisted workflows and critically reviewing AI output for correctness, hidden bugs, and security issues.
- Multiply teams through mentorship, decision memos/ADRs, and enabling Product/Design to self-serve.
Requirements
- Track record of shipping something end-to-end and owning the outcome, not just the code.
- Strong product judgment: push back on bad specs, propose the cheapest experiment, descoping well, and collaborating with Product on solutions.
- Deep full-stack expertise: React (component lifecycle, state management, rendering optimization), JavaScript/TypeScript, modern CSS; Node.js and Python services; RESTful APIs; asynchronous data handling.
- Cloud and data-pipeline depth on AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway) plus batch/workflow orchestration (Step Functions, Airflow or similar) for multi-tenant products.
- Strong UI/UX eye and ability to turn ambiguous requirements into intuitive, accessible, user-centric journeys.
- Security mindset for sensitive consumer data and compliance; clear written and verbal communication; mentorship experience; 5–10% travel.
