What you will do

• Define evaluation strategies for conversational and agentic search, including golden datasets, rubrics, and LLM-as-judge calibration.
• Lead the design of quality metrics and decision frameworks for RAG, agents, tools, and model selection.
• Improve retrieval and re-ranking approaches using sparse and dense retrieval, vector search, and semantic rewrites.
• Translate experimental results into product decisions on model routing, tool exposure, and agent customization.
• Partner with engineering to productionize evaluation pipelines, telemetry, and CI guardrails for chat quality.
• Mentor other data scientists and engineers in experiment design and statistical rigor.

Requirements

• 8+ years of applied DS/ML experience in IR, NLP, ranking, semantic search, or RAG.
• Strong track record of leading evaluation for production AI/ML systems (offline metrics, online experimentation).
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/Transformers, and Pandas.
• Deep understanding of retrieval systems (nDCG, MRR, Recall@k) and vector search.
• Practical experience with hirify.globalsearch or similar distributed data systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and leadership audiences.
