Associate Producer (News)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid; Must be based in New York City (NYC) and have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

What you will do

• Own key production aspects including headline, graphic, and video producing for Nightly News.
• Pitch, develop, and write news stories for the nightly broadcast.
• Coordinate graphics and edit VOs for air.
• Assist senior producers with booking, pre-interviewing, and gathering story elements.
• Train and work toward owning all aspects of day-of package producing.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of editorial production experience at the network or cable level.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in shooting, desktop editing, and preliminary package producing.
• Proficiency in iNews and Outlook.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
• Must be willing and able to work in NYC.

Nice to have

• Experience with DV shooting.
• Advanced knowledge of Avid editing systems.
• Strong journalistic writing, research skills, and editorial judgment.
• Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines.
