Location: Hybrid in Malta (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

Salary: €60,000 – €75,000

What you will do

• Design and maintain backend services using modern .NET technologies with a focus on scalability and clean architecture.
• Build and integrate messaging systems and background services for event-driven communication.
• Write and optimize high-performance MS SQL queries and database operations.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design sessions for product development.
• Contribute to engineering best practices regarding coding standards, CI/CD, and testing strategies.
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core / .NET 8, and backend application development.
• Deep understanding of API design, RESTful services, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
• Experience with MS SQL performance optimization in high-volume environments.
• Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), messaging systems, and Redis.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Malta office.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript and/or Python.
• Exposure to cloud-native technologies and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Previous experience with large-scale SaaS or platform-based products.
