TL;DR
Scala Developer (iGaming): Building a Unified Backoffice platform for internal sportsbook management with an accent on Scala services and distributed systems. Focus on developing scalable microservices, optimizing system architecture, and implementing event-driven data processing.
Location: Remote (Global). Relocation opportunities to Latvia, Malta, Spain, or Montenegro are available.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain Scala-based services for the Unified Backoffice platform.
- Refactor and improve existing systems to enhance performance and reliability.
- Contribute to the overall system architecture and key technical decisions.
- Write and maintain functional and integration tests.
- Ensure the scalability and reliability of services within a distributed environment.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience at a Senior or strong Middle+ level.
- Solid knowledge of Scala and functional programming libraries such as Cats, ZIO, and FS2.
- Experience building REST APIs and developing distributed systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, RPC).
- Deep understanding of event-driven architecture and data processing.
- Proficiency working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to handle complex system design and non-trivial business logic.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python.
- Knowledge of CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns.
- Experience with MongoDB.
- Background in other JVM languages like Java or Kotlin.
