Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (APIs/event-driven): Designing and implementing secure, scalable integrations between internal platform services and external ecosystems with an accent on reusable API/connectors, event streams, and production reliability. Focus on enforcing security controls, aligning with architecture “golden paths”, and improving delivery via automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

Location: Brussels (8 days per month onsite)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between internal and external systems using APIs and event-driven architectures
• Develop reusable integration components such as APIs, connectors, and adapters
• Build and maintain APIs, event streams, and integration services with scalability and reliability in mind
• Implement security controls across integrations (authentication, authorization, encryption) and ensure compliance with standards
• Support testing, deployment, and production readiness; monitor and troubleshoot integration services in production
• Improve delivery through automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code while exploring new integration patterns

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background focused on APIs and system integration
• Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)
• Experience integrating third-party systems or SaaS platforms
• Strong knowledge of microservices and distributed systems
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred) and CI/CD/DevOps experience
• Strong understanding of API security (OAuth2, authentication, encryption, identity management) and ability to work within architecture standards
