Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Azure): Designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud solutions for federal IT environments with an accent on Azure infrastructure, automation, and compliance. Focus on developing Terraform IaC templates, optimizing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, and implementing secure CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.

Location: Hybrid, On-site 4 days/week in Washington, D.C.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure including VMs, VNets, Storage, and PaaS services.
• Develop and maintain Terraform templates as the primary Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool.
• Manage and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including host pools and FSLogix profile containers.
• Build and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in GitLab using PowerShell, Bash, and YAML.
• Implement secure cloud practices aligned with NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP federal requirements.
• Utilize Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to analyze system health and ensure SLAs.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret or higher security clearance are required.
• Must be able to work on-site in Washington, DC four days per week.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Cloud Engineering, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.
• 4+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
• 5+ years of total experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Azure networking components.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD or federal agency cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Experience with Azure serverless tools like Functions, Logic Apps, and Event Grid.
• Knowledge of FinOps and Azure Cost Management practices.
