Sr. Software Engineer II, Sensor - Mac, Linux, or Windows (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sunnyvale, California, USA; Canadian-based employment is also described in the compensation section.

Base salary: $160,000–$250,000 per year for U.S. candidates; $175,000–$250,000 CAD per year for Canadian-based employment. Bonuses, equity, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Design and develop core features for lightweight security sensors across Linux, Windows, and macOS.
• Build functionality spanning file systems, memory, processes, networking, and other operating-system subsystems.
• Collaborate with sensor development teams on architecture and strategic initiatives.
• Own features throughout the lifecycle, from initial design through delivery and sprint demonstrations.
• Guide development teams on cross-platform software design and implementation.
• Work cross-functionally with geographically distributed teams.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of C and C++.
• Extensive understanding of Linux operating-system internals.
• Experience debugging memory corruption, process contention, and system performance bottlenecks.
• Experience delivering major software features and releases collaboratively.
• Ability to lead, mentor, communicate, and collaborate in a distributed environment.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience developing scalable, lightweight, high-performance systems.
• Expertise in operating-system concepts and core subsystems.
• Agile methodology experience.
• Knowledge of security principles.
• Experience with eBPF.
