Network Engineer (Cisco/Palo Alto)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and tune Layer 2/3 networks using Cisco, Meraki, Dell, and Palo Alto equipment.
• Maintain high-capacity links (10 GbE – 100 GbE) and routing protocols including BGP and OSPF to ensure low latency and high uptime.
• Automate repetitive network tasks using Ansible, Python, or Terraform through CI/CD pipelines.
• Act as a first responder for P1/P2 incidents on a 24/7 on-call rotation across physical, logical, and cloud edge layers.
• Partner with InfoSec to harden configurations, manage certificates, and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, runbooks, and change records.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in enterprise or data center networking.
• Deep expertise in L2/L3 (Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP/OSPF), VPNs, and firewall policies.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto firewalls, and Cisco WLCs.
• Proficiency in automation using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Knowledge of cloud networking within AWS, Azure, or GCP (VPC, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, TGW).
• Must be based in Costa Rica.
