TL;DR

Database Engineering - Associate (AWS/MySQL): Developing internal tooling and resilient data platforms with an accent on high availability, disaster recovery, and automation. Focus on building CI/CD pipelines for schema changes, optimizing database performance, and leveraging IaC for scalable cloud provisioning.

Location: Remote (Mexico). Must be available 11 AM – 8 PM Mexico Time Zone.

What you will do

  • Design and maintain internal tooling and platform services using Java and Python.
  • Architect and manage database platforms (MySQL, AWS RDS, NoSQL) focusing on high availability and performance at scale.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines for automated schema changes and infrastructure provisioning using Jenkins and Bitbucket.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Support containerized workloads on Kubernetes (EKS) to bridge application teams and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Hands-on software development experience in Java and Python for production-quality tooling.
  • Production experience with MySQL and AWS RDS, including tuning and replication.
  • Proficiency with the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.) and IaC tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
  • Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
  • Must be based in Mexico and available 11 AM – 8 PM Mexico Time Zone with rotating weekend on-call.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Spring Boot, microservices, and API design.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL practices and ServiceNow.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools for debugging and code generation.
