TL;DR

Software System Engineer (Aerospace): Defining, maintaining, and validating spacecraft software architecture and requirements with an accent on alignment between onboard and ground segments. Focus on managing software configuration, creating system specifications, and ensuring bidirectional traceability of requirements.

Location: Onsite in Brno, Czech Republic (home-office possibility). Candidates must be based in the EU or have existing eligibility to work in the EU.

What you will do

  • Define and maintain spacecraft-level software architecture and the Software System Specification (SSS).
  • Derive software-relevant requirements from System Requirements Documents (SRD) and ensure bidirectional traceability.
  • Act as the technical focal point for software interfaces between avionics, payloads, and ground segments.
  • Supervise the software verification strategy and support AIT and System Engineering during test campaigns.
  • Manage spacecraft software configuration, releases, and coordinate across various technical segments.
  • Evaluate and implement solutions for technical issues, ensuring consistency between software and system-level interfaces.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, aerospace, or a related technical field.
  • Several years of professional experience in software or system engineering.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, agile methodologies, and associated tools.
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages, CI/CD tools, and virtualization solutions.
  • English: Fluent (C1) spoken and written.
  • Eligibility to work in the EU.
