What you will do

• Produce, write, and edit accurate and engaging news content for the hirify.global News website.
• Generate original story ideas that connect with and attract local audiences in Northamptonshire.
• Respond quickly and effectively to breaking news situations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver stories in accessible and relatable formats.
• Build and maintain positive professional relationships within the hirify.global organization.

Requirements

• Must identify as deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent under the Equality Act (2010) or Disability Discrimination Act (1995) as part of the hirify.global Extend programme.
• First-class writing and organizational skills.
• Significant recent experience working in a fast-paced digital news environment.
• Strong geographical and cultural knowledge of Northamptonshire.
• Strong editorial judgement and alignment with hirify.global news values.

Nice to have

• Experience producing content for radio and digital audio platforms.
• Ability to use the Optimo content management system.
• Experience delivering content specifically for diverse communities.
• Knowledge of journalism law and ethics.
