TL;DR
Infrastructure Architect (Platform & Network Systems): Designing and delivering large-scale platforms for critical network environments with an accent on virtualization, containerization, and high availability. Focus on integrating Kubernetes with core infrastructure, creating HLD/LLD designs, and optimizing system performance for national connectivity services.
Location: Hybrid (Ipswich, UK) — 3 office days per week required

What you will do
- Design enterprise infrastructure platforms including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization.
- Architect high-availability and scalable systems within on-premise environments.
- Integrate Kubernetes and container platforms with core infrastructure services.
- Produce HLD/LLD designs and define overarching architecture standards.
- Provide technical leadership across engineering, delivery, and operations teams.
- Support complex troubleshooting and drive continuous performance optimization.
Requirements
- Professional experience in Infrastructure Architecture or Platform Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of VMware (ESXi, NSX, vSAN, VCF).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker container platforms.
- Advanced Linux OS administration (OL, RHEL, Ubuntu, SLES).
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, firewalls).
- Proficiency with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell.
Nice to have
- Experience with EMS/NMS, SDN, or telecom networks.
- Exposure to large-scale distributed systems.
- Knowledge of the UK Telecommunications (Security) Act 2021.
