Senior Information Security Analyst (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Information Security Analyst (Fintech): Protecting organizational systems and customers by identifying, analyzing, and responding to security threats with an accent on incident response and vulnerability management. Focus on monitoring SIEM and endpoint protection tools, conducting proactive threat hunting, and improving the overall security posture.

Location: Hybrid (Manchester or London). Must spend a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office. New team members will spend an initial period full-time in the office.

What you will do

• Act as a first responder for security incidents, including participation in on-call support.
• Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts and events, prioritizing based on risk and impact.
• Analyse security data to identify trends, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats.
• Oversee vulnerability management and support patching activities, validating effectiveness through scanning.
• Operate and support key security technologies including SIEM, endpoint protection, and email/web security tools.
• Produce and report on security metrics, KPIs, and operational performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an information security role, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of information security principles, risk management, and the threat landscape.
• Experience operating and monitoring security tooling such as SIEM and endpoint protection.
• Proficiency with enterprise systems including Microsoft Active Directory, Windows, and Linux.
• Experience working within recognized frameworks such as ISO27001 or NIST.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester or London for hybrid work requirements.

Nice to have
