What you will do

• Develop scalable, high-performance data pipelines to support GenAI foundation models and ML applications.
• Ensure end-to-end data quality for core datasets used across the marketplace business unit.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to translate business requirements into production-level ML solutions.
• Experiment with new tools and technologies to improve data processing performance and scaling.
• Provide self-organizing tools for the analytics community to discover and assess data quality.
• Act as a technical intermediary, communicating complex data problems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Amsterdam, Netherlands.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer with a record of delivering ML/Data solutions.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Java.
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks like PySpark, Apache Flink, or Snowflake.
• Proficiency in schema design, data modeling, and working with relational/NoSQL databases like MySQL, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).

Nice to have

• Experience in data processing for large-scale language models (GPT, BERT).
• Proficiency in data analysis tools like NumPy, pandas, and matplotlib.
• Experience with experimental design, A/B testing, and ML evaluation metrics.
