What you will do

• Identify high-leverage AI opportunities across business functions and own the full lifecycle from scoping to handoff.
• Build AI tools and pipelines using frontier models, agent frameworks, and LLM infrastructure as core building blocks.
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks (evals) to measure the meaningful utility and performance of AI systems.
• Instrument AI systems for observability, including logging, tracing, and cost tracking using tools like Datadog or LangSmith.
• Collaborate with non-engineering stakeholders to align technical execution with business needs and operational gaps.
• Research emerging AI capabilities and translate market patterns into actionable internal briefs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional hands-on software engineering experience.
• Must be based in or able to work from the New York City office (Hybrid).
• 2+ years of experience building production-ready LLM systems, agent frameworks, or retrieval systems.
• Proven track record of designing and running evals for AI systems to prove utility.
• Experience with LLM observability tooling (e.g., LangSmith, Datadog).
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Practical machine learning experience, including familiarity with model behavior, data quality, and iteration loops.
