Design Group Manager (Automotive)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in Warren, Michigan (on-site at least 3 days per week). No relocation assistance provided.

What you will do

• Manage a large group of Engineering Designers and DLTs within the Exteriors Engineering Design Team.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure successful execution of vehicle programs with robust technical solutions.
• Oversee staffing, training, development, and prioritization of work for the design group.
• Develop and implement new products, processes, and operational standards to support business strategies.
• Evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and remove operational roadblocks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to influence the adoption of new concepts and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology.
• 8+ years of experience in Design, including proven leadership experience.
• Experience in product development and design/release activities.
• Strong knowledge of engineering systems (GxDP, GSTS, VIS Mock-up, GPDS, GD&T, Global BOM).
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Solid grounding in core engineering and design principles.

Nice to have

• Experience in Body Structures or Closures.
• Proficiency with NX and Teamcenter.
• Experience in Design/Release engineering.
