What you will do

• Design and deliver product data products on Databricks using medallion architecture.
• Lead complex engineering challenges including event schema governance and identity resolution.
• Define and evolve engineering standards for dbt, data contracts, testing, and observability.
• Own data quality and maintain contracts between producers and consumers.
• Raise the technical bar through code reviews, design input, and senior IC leadership.
• Translate operational complexity from multiple product sources into durable engineering execution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering in a senior IC capacity.
• Hands-on production experience with Databricks and dbt.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience working with product, behavioural, or event-based data sources at scale.
• Track record of defining engineering standards across testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Experience with product analytics platforms like Snowplow, Segment, or Amplitude.
• Familiarity with streaming or near-real-time ingestion (Kafka, Kinesis).
• Experience working within a data product operating model with defined SLAs.
• Background in SaaS or EdTech environments.
• Familiarity with modern BI tools like Tableau.
