TL;DR

Azure Cloud/DevOps Engineer (Azure): Design, implement, and manage secure Azure cloud solutions for federal IT environments with an accent on infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and compliance. Focus on building and operating Azure networking and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) while enforcing NIST/RMF/FedRAMP controls and troubleshooting performance for end users.

Location: Hybrid (On-site 4 days/week in Washington, D.C. 20036; 1 day telework)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure (VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure AD, and PaaS services).
• Manage and optimize Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN/ExpressRoute connectivity).
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform templates.
• Support automation and CI/CD using PowerShell, Bash, YAML/JSON, and GitLab pipelines.
• Deploy and operate Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including host pools, session hosts, FSLogix, and Azure AD/M365 integrations.
• Implement secure cloud practices and ensure compliance with NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP controls; use Azure Monitor/Log Analytics for health, diagnostics, and SLA enforcement.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
• Active Secret (or higher) clearance.
• 3+ years Azure Cloud Engineering experience.
• 3+ years CI/CD pipeline experience.
• 3+ years Terraform IaC experience and 3+ years using GitLab.
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD or federal agency cloud environments.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes (AKS).
• Azure serverless tools (Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid).
• Cost optimization using Azure Cost Management / FinOps practices.
